3,000 High-End Units in Chongqing’s Central Business District
Chun Sen Bi An Masterplan & Housing in Chongqing, China is situated just west of Chongqing’s newly developing Central Business District: This 13.8-hectare (30-acre) site has views to the south across the Jialing River to central Chongqing. It's currently in design.
“In the interior of China, at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, lies the interior port city of Chongqing. For a prominent, dramatically sloping, riverfront location, our client sought a design for 3,000 high-end residential units that would incorporate commercial, office, and retail uses, while maintaining sensitivity to the city skyline and the natural topography of the site.”

The main conversion from the river to sky and from earth to mountains, inflect and inform the shaping of the open spaces, landscaped footpaths, and the stepped, curving, alternately low and high massing of the buildings.
A Symbol of the Community
The monumental quality of the Grand Stairway becomes a city destination point in itself, a link between the upper town and the waterfront. A symbol of the community of Chun Sen Bi An, the Grand Stairway also provides a public amenity for the larger urban area.
