Water as an Interface: Playing with Illusions
Showroom by Héctor Serrano Studio for the leading Bathroom brand Roca
The space shows the results of the International Design Contest, Jump the Gap 2009 at 100% Design London.
Touch the water and the content starts: making the "water" vibrate with the help of an visual illusion.
The space is designed to create an emotive and theatrical experience where the visitor can enjoy and play with the contents.
The main area shows the work of the 11 finalists on specially designed basins, with an integrated screen that uses water as an interface.
As the visitor touch the water the content starts and water vibrates giving a magical and unexpected illusion
This shows a reference to the past in contrast to the highly sophisticated technology of today.
The theme that surrounds the space is our interaction with water in the bathroom. All the different elements explore this concept in a very intuitive and engaging way.
