According to early visitor projections, a significant increase was recorded in the number of designers and architects, more and more interested in SUN and surely attracted by the new show Garden SUN, dedicated to the encounter of the top flower and plant offering with the demand from public and private large-scale design, and bound to increase in time.
The open-air tourism area – Camping&Village Show – was also expanded, in line with the data disclosed by Faita Federcamping during the show. These include the closing figures of the open-air tourist season, which shows a 3% increase. Thus, growing attendance of open-air hospitality facility owners.
The bathing sector also recorded significant attendance from all over Italy, despite the uncertainty pervading this business due to the Bolkestein directive, still to be regularly implemented.
Great interest was displayed in the events, installations, conventions, and workshops: bathing themes were discussed in depth, and the meetings promoted by Paysage-Architettura del Paesaggio, dedicated to large-scale design themes and an ideal cultural counterpart for the new Garden SUN sector, were also very successful. The SensorialE installations in the main Hall and the outdoor ambiances beneath the fair’s Dome, the great wood in hall A3 and the display of the winning products conceived for the SUN.Lab design competition involved, fascinated, and attracted thousands of specialized operators.
“We are satisfied, because SUN displayed clear signs of a fresh and bright organizational approach,” say the organizers from Fiere e Comunicazioni and Rimini Fiera. “Instead of dwelling on the development of the fair in its first 30 years of life, we invested – and the exhibitors realized that – on the international origin of visitors, on the diversification and expansion of the professional target, on the evident expansion of some areas, and on the creation of a new exhibiting course. Lastly, the official opening on Sunday, also new for this edition, proved highly successful.”
