S Clinic + Residence by Office of Kenji Tagashira
The S Clinic was not the easiest project in the world to construct as it’s located in the core of Osaka. As it’s facing the national road, there’s a great number of traffic existing in this area. The streets are lined with big and small stores, banks and medical facilities, and innumerable signboards are placed out miscellaneously. A disorderly row of buildings along the street is formed with them.
The Mingle, by alvinT is a furniture made to socialize on. Its appearance has an Indonesian identity to it while it also approaches the modern look. The aim of this project was to manifest what is a modern contemporary Indonesian design and then put it on the world map.
James & Mau has put their focus on innovative and contemporary designs based on bioclimatic (sustainable design that mainly addresses comfort through design adaptations, site-specific and regional climate conditions.) and modular architecture.
The new take-away restaurant designed for the sushi brand Sosushi had to meet requirements of turning a small old stationery store, deep seated in the historical urban structure of the city, into a trendy place. UAU has been successful in maximizing the limited space offering each intersection of materials by using - shelves, benches and cubbies. This has helped avoiding nooks and corners to remain unused.
Designer Rodrigo Silveria started wood working when he began collage. As he studied industrial design at the Brazilian school FAAP, he was introduced to carpentry. Today he makes money by selling his work.
