The original 1950’s house was well constructed, but, with 7”- 6” ceilings and a stair segregating the main living spaces, it lacked spatial hierarchy and volume. In addition, the existing house failed to take advantage of its remarkable site, which offers spectacular views to the north and west across Puget Sound.
As usual, the Adams Mohler Ghillino Architects takes the site into a lot of consideration, here they have built a residence that has a livability on a tight urban lot. This is enhanced through creative, efficient and flexible use of space. The shed-roofed upper floor of the main house rests above an open ground floor living space while a detached accessory structure serves as garage, office, playspace or guest quarters.

The Automobile Museum has a building design that is dedicated to the automobile, where the automobile also is the vehicle that visits the space.
You visit the first external ramp of the museum with your own private car, like a SAFARI, you park your car on the roof and visit by foot the internal ramp going down.
The building could seem to appear as a urban car showroom, with its corners and angles filled with tempting, shining exposed automobiles.
