This is What BOOKS will Exhibit in Salone Satellite 2010

Last year, they were admired for Bambi Chairs and Web Chair. This year the design platform BOOKS, created by Tatsuo Yamamoto and Jun Hashimoto, will participate in the Milan Salone Satellite 2010, the 14th -19th April.

Mozzarella Chair

The Mozzarella chair is a work of Tatsuo Yamamoto. The idea was to symbolize the mozzarella cheese which is a vital ingredient in the Italian gastronomy. The mozzarella cheese was a choice made by Yamamoto because of its unique resilience and simple light flavor similar to the Japanese tofu. The chair has a soft texture and a distinctive bounce just like a spoonful of fresh mozzarella cheese made from freshly squeezed buffalo milk!

Material:
Frame: Stainless steel with 2mm thickness
Fabric: Stretch woven fabric

Net Chair

This design is Jun Hashimoto's latest work for the BOOKS series. With the Net chair, he attempts to create an elegant and comfortable chair out of an industrial material with fairly simple techniques. The Net, is an easy chair created out of one sheet of industrial stainless mesh which is folded and cut, to then become tied with a fine wire.

Materials:

How would the ultimate furniture evolve when created from minimum processing and materials? The designer seeks out the concept of minimalism and the boundless potential of furniture architecture, crafting techniques and design.

Stainless mesh sheet: diameter: 2mm/pitch: 20mm/width: 1,000mm/length: 4,000mm
